Mel Owen plays Ian Beale at his own game when he tries to take her out, Tina is in a strange mood after her evening out with Stuart, and Martin is robbed.
Ian is still sweet on Mel and he suggests that they have a dinner date to discuss business plans. When he realises he’s booked dinner for the same time as a business meeting, he calls in sick so that Masood is forced to go alone.
Ian’s grand plan for a date with Mel comes to nothing as Mel is on to him. She and Jack come round with Amy and tell him they’ve nominated him to babysit while they go on a date! Masood, meanwhile, has realised that Ian was faking being ill. Incensed, he confronts Ian for leaving him to deal with their business plans alone.
Tina is struggling to concentrate at work the day after her night out with Stuart. Kathy thinks Tina is just nursing a bad hangover but Sonia is concerned. She knows Tina enough to see that something else is up. But what has rattled her so much?
Also, Martin offers to take Lily to the cinema but he has to let her down when his money belt gets stolen. Will Martin be able to find the culprit and get the money back from them?
EastEnders continues on BBC1 on Monday 16 July at 8.00pm
