Rodney urges Nicola to tell Jimmy about the baby. Jimmy, meanwhile, has plans of his own and he invites Rodney over and asks for his permission to propose to Nicola. Jimmy hastily purchases an engagement ring and bumbles through a proposal. An unwitting Nicola is touched when he confesses he sold his car to buy the ring and she accepts, but decides to keep the news of her pregnancy to herself, wanting to enjoy the romance. Bob is awkward when he discovers Gennie looking for a new place to live. They are thrown together again when Brenda sprains her ankle and Gennie offers to cover for her at the shop and cafe. Bob is worried about having Gennie in such close proximity, but realises that he'll just have to get on with it. Mark feels like a new man after getting away with it at the vow renewal and he wastes no time injecting the romance back into his marriage. Cain stops Mark in the village and mentions Faye, but Mark is relieved when Cain hints that he's merely attracted to her. Later, Cain asks Debbie for a description of the woman she saw with Mark and his eyes light up when he realises that it was Faye...

His CV includes spells as a news producer at the BBC and TVNZ, as well as web editor for Time Inc UK. He has produced TV news and entertainment features on personalities as diverse as Nick Cave, Tom Hardy, Clive James, Jodie Marsh and Kevin Bacon and he co-produced and directed The Ponds, which has screened in UK cinemas, BBC Four and is currently available on Netflix. 

An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
