Karen goes back to the Eighties!

Among the crowd of an Eighties house party is none other than Karen Hollins, who sings her heart out and even gets a phone number written on her hand by a young man in a darkened corner: 07011991... Later at home, we see that the face staring back at Karen in the mirror is not of the woman we know now but of Karen as she appeared in her youth.

After being rudely awakened by her mother, Brenda, Karen hears strange things, gets a pain in her ear and sees familiar faces everywhere - the postman looks like Jimmi and a cafe worker like Heston, and Karen is overcome by flashes of white light and dizzy spells. On her way to the doctors, Karen sees a taxi driver with Rob's face... and her flash of white light brings us back to 'real' Karen, laying in ICU at the hospital.

Karen is sedated again, mumbling something about needing to find her mum again as she goes back to sleep. Back in her dream, Karen arrives at the doctors to be met by a very familiar face, who prompts her to wake again. She opens her eyes to find Daniel, and when he goes to speak to Rob, Karen manages to scribble down the number she remembers on the back of her hand.

However, back in her dream-world consultation with Daniel, Karen's worried about her mum and he has to break the news: she's dead.

Daniel and Rob fear Karen still can't remember anything and puzzle over the incomplete phone number, until Rob clocks it. It's not a number, it's a date. 07/01/1991: the day Karen's mother Brenda died. Clearly she does remember something! But will Karen ever get back to normal?
