Famed for his potty mouth, Gordon Ramsay is not the obvious choice to be host of a kids’ cooking competition.

But here he is with his dad hat on, minding his language, as he gently encourages 19 eight- to 13-year-olds to become MasterChef Junior USA champion.

With the lure of $100,000 and, of course, the 'most coveted trophy in the culinary world', these youngsters are beyond excited, gasping and squealing sweetly at Gordon's every word.

Barely able to see over the counter, the kids still produce incredible results in the mystery box challenge, before making their own pasta for the elimination test. Continues daily.
