Neighbours, Mark Brennan, Elly Conway

Just when it looked like there was a chance they might get back together again, Elly is crushed when Mark springs a SURPRISE on her...

For a moment there, Elly Conway got her hopes up that there might be a chance of her and estranged hubby Mark Brennan getting back together again. But it seems the unexpected kiss between Mark and Elly in yesterday's episode wasn't "hello, again"... more "goodbye!".

Although Mark has been in a right muddle since he found out wife Elly cheated on him with Shaun Watkins, and he is NOT the father of her baby, the policeman confides in mate Toadie Rebecchi that he doesn't know if there is a future for him and Elly.

Unfortunately, Elly gets the wrong idea after the kiss and tells her family she thinks there's a chance she and Mark may reconcile. But her hopes come crashing down when Mark reveals he has filed the annulment papers and their marriage is officially over...

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters.

Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave?

Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy.

He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
