Best known as Mr Whoops from CBeebies series Grandpa in My Pocket, experienced choreographer Steve Elias encourages Yorkshire folk to celebrate their heritage through dance...
Some people will recognise Steve Elias as Mr Whoops from CBeebies series Grandpa in My Pocket, but Steve is also an experienced choreographer and West End performer.
In this five-part series he travels to the Yorkshire towns of Barnsley, Skipton and Huddersfield, aiming to bring them together to celebrate their history and heritage through dance.
Ex-miner and local Barnsley historian Dave pretty much sums up how most people initially react: 'I think he’s raving bonkers.' But Steve passionately believes in the power of dance and it isn't long before he's found ballet dancers in chip shops, hip-hoppers in hair salons and foxtrotters in factories.
Toe-tappingly feelgood telly.
