The discovery of a body in the River Lea is the starting point for Remembrance, the third two-part case of the new series of Silent Witness (part two on Wednesday, 9.00pm).

Clever forensic work – including the detection of weedkiller in the victim’s lungs – helps Nikki and the team retrace the deceased’s journey.

Meanwhile, evidence is stacking up against the prime suspect – a drug user whose mother’s death appears to have given him violent impulses towards women, and who knew the deceased.

And when links to a missing teenager are discovered, Nikki is put under pressure by the mother of the missing girl to disclose details of the investigation.
