Andrew Flintoff has now been replaced by Reggie Yates but the challenges remain the same, with 22 UK wannabes being put through their paces in South Africa by an international squad of frightening tough nuts.

You really wouldn't want to try this stuff at home, though there is a 'thank god that's not me' thrill in watching the forced marches, interrogation and sleep deprivation. And that's just for starters.

The volunteers also meet special forces honcho Clinton Agnew – 'Africa is full of deadly and scary things,' he says. 'Including me.'
