How best to describe this show, now in its fifth series on Dave? Well, the Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies, says that the comedians competing – Bob Mortimer, Mark Watson, Aisling Bea, Nish Kumar and Sally Phillips – can 'revel in the glory of being brilliant at a completely pointless activity.'
We say: just roll with the increasingly odd tasks that they're given. Otherwise, Sally covering Greg's co-host Alex Horne with lettuce and putting chocolate cake in his socks, or Bob bundling him into a car boot and singing Have You Seen the Muffin Man? seems downright sinister.
Go with the Taskmaster flow, and it's snort-laughingly funny.
