The compelling story of Howard Carter's quest to find the Boy King
At its best, this intriguing drama has a touch of the Indiana Jones films about it as Max Irons stars as archaeologist Howard Carter, the man who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun.
When we meet Carter, he's struggling to get by in Egypt after having his licence to dig revoked after a scuffle with a French duke.
However, a chance encounter with Lord Carnarvon (Sam Neill), a man seeking adventure, results in him getting back in the game as he assures the aristocrat that he's close to finding the Boy King.
The two leads make a likeable double act, while Catherine Steadman provides a romantic interest as determined archaeologist Maggie.
