Moira and Nate will embark on a "dangerous" affair...

There has been chemistry sizzling between Moira and her hunky farmhand Nate for weeks, and Emmerdale has now confirmed that the pair are set to have a full-blown affair.

Emmerdale producer Kate Brookes hinted at a recent press event that it's going to be very steamy... but what about Cain? "Those of you with eyes might have sensed that there is something going on with Nate and Moira, so it might come as no surprise to hear that they will be having a full blown affair.

"It’s going to be dangerous, it’s going to ruffle a lot of feathers in the village, and obviously Moira is married to Cain who is the ultimate bad boy, so when he does find out, it will be explosive.

"We’re really going to get to the core of why this affair has happened, and the consequences of it. This will all come to a head in October, we like to do our big week in October to set the autumn schedule alight, so it’s going to be a massive week of drama with lots of tears, action and heartbreak."

2. Tracy fights for her life in a horror blaze

There's terror heading for the village as Tracy gets trapped in a terrible fire. Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw hinted: "We’ve got Sharma drama as a fire rips through the factory, it’s caused by two of our villagers who are up to no good behind Jai and Rishi’s backs.

"Unbeknown to anyone, Tracy is trapped in the factory and as the fire takes hold, there’s a huge explosion. Will Tracy get out in time? I can’t tell you yet but it’s safe to say that there’s some heartbreaking scenes ahead for our villagers, and Tracy’s life is never going to be the same again."

3. Chas has her baby

As a nervous Chas and Paddy prepare for their scan, Paddy decides to build a garden in Gracie’s memory in Emmerdale

Chas and Paddy will have something to celebrate

Thankfully amongst the drama there will be some happiness for one Emmerdale family when Chas and Paddy welcome their baby into to the world...

Kate Brookes revealed: "Every so often we have happiness, and this comes in the form of a new Dingle. Chas and Paddy will have their baby, it will be a happy and joyous occasion.

"Obviously being a soap it won’t go according to plan, there will be a lot of comedy. It’ll bring a new lease of life to the family, there’s a lot of darkness around the Dingles at the minute so this really lifts them. So that’s going to be all fun and lovely to watch. After the really heartbreaking storyline we had with Chas and Paddy last year, it’s a much welcome time for the family."

4. Ryan Hawley's exit

Emmerdale Robert collapse

Emmerdale will be saying farewell to Robert

Ever since it was revealed actor Ryan Hawley would be leaving the role of Robert Sugden, fans have bene trying to work out how he would depart the village.

Laura Shaw has hinted that Robert could be killed off later this summer as his determination to get revenge on Lee Posner for Victoria's rape takes a sinister turn: "Robert is pushed to the very edge and is intent on getting his revenge on Lee at any cost, even if it kills him.

"We have had a fantastic 5 years with Ryan and we’re going to miss him dearly, but it does mean that going forward, Robron are going to be parted. You’ve seen in the past what happens with Aaron when he is parted from his beloved Robert. It’s going to be explosive."

5. Mandy Dingle returns

We last saw Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale back in January when she made her brief return to the village with her son Vinny. But her comeback left fans wanting more, and it seems the soap gods were listening, because Mandy will soon be back in Emmerdale.

Emmerdale's executive producer Jane Hudson revealed: "We’ve got Lisa Riley returning which we’re all very excited about. Mandy and Vinny coming back into the village with scams and there’s lots of store.

"It’s going to be very fun and colourful as she makes herself at home in the Dingle household."

6. New beginnings for Kim and Jai

There's a surprising business venture on the cards for Jai Sharma when he teams up with village troublemaker Kim Tate. Kate Brookes has revealed that this new project might be something that Jai lives to regret...

"Home Farm is a hub of drama and secrets and lies and betrayal, which will continue into the autumn and beyond. Kim strikes up a business relationship with Jai in the aftermath of the fire.

"But obviously this is Kim Tate, and getting into bed with Kim is like getting in bed with the devil herself, so it’s not going to be as plain sailing as Jai would hope."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
