Coronation Street - Kate and Rana get engaged!

Kate and Rana propose to one another – but will Kate’s desire for kids be a problem?

Rana returns early from her cruise next week in Coronation Street and she’s thrilled to be back on home soil, because it means she’s finally reunited with girlfriend Kate.

In fact, Rana has missed the waitress so much that she decides to propose. She has no idea Kate is planning to do the same thing, which makes for two shocked – but happy – faces when they both pop the question in the Rovers. Bless!

“This is the peak of their relationship and it’s such a pleasant surprise for both of them,” says Bhavna Limbachia, who plays Rana.

“It makes them feel confident, knowing they’re on the same page as one another.”

Coronation Street spoilers: Rana Nazir and Kate are getting married!

Double delight: Kate and Rana both propose in Coronation Street - but is Kate's desire for children soon going to cause major problems for the pair? "Rana wants to travel, so it throws her that Kate wants children straight away," reveals Bhavna Limbachia

But as the pair celebrate at a party thrown by Johnny and Jenny, Rana realises that their relationship isn’t as perfect as she thinks it is. She’s secretly floored when Kate says that her fiancée will make a great mother. Who said anything about kids? Surely not already?!

“Before she came to the cobbles, Rana was a free spirit,” adds Bhavna. "She wanted to travel and see the world. That’s what she wants with Kate, so it throws her to learn that Kate wants children straight away.”

Imran picks up on his sister’s unease and urges her to be honest with Kate, but this is soap, so Rana does nothing of the sort. Meanwhile, Kate throws herself into Project Baby; even visiting her GP to discuss IVF treatment.

Will Rana find the courage to burst Kate’s bubble? And if she does, will this mean that the wedding’s off already?

Coronation Street continues on ITV.
