... and what is wife Linda's bad news from the hospital? The Carters were at the centre of the drama in tonight's episode of EastEnders...

Mick Carter (played by Danny Dyer) is a man under pressure at the moment in EastEnders.

As viewers saw in the episode shown last night, Thursday 6th August, the takings are down at the Vic. So pub landlord Mick and his wife Linda (Kellie Bright) need to come up with some ideas to boost business.

But stressed-out Mick found himself pulled in all directions, with friend Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) wanting him to referee another football match and Mick's aunt Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) asking him to drag-up as a Lady Gaga impersonator at local gay bar The Prince Albert!

It was all too much excitement for Mick and later back at the Vic he was struck by chest pains...

So anyway, in tonight's episode (Friday), for a moment we all feared the worst when Mick suddenly collapsed from more chest pains while he was being ref at another kids' football match...

A worried Mitch and football mum Megan (Shauna McLean) raced to Mick's rescue after he fell to the floor, and Megan called for an ambulance afraid Mick was having a heart attack.

Luckily, it turned out to be a false alarm and Mick continued to blame his chest pains on indigestion from a curry the night before. However, Mitch was having none of it and dropped Mick off outside Walford General Hospital to get himself checked out.

However, before Mick got a chance to go into the hospital, he got a panic phonecall from Linda back at the Vic...

"I've had some bad news, from the hospital," she sobbed. "I really need you."

Without further ado, Mick jumped into a taxi to hotfoot it back to Albert Square to find out what's wrong with Linda.

What's up with Linda that's caused her to break down in tears? Could the letter from the hospital have anything to do with her past cancer battle?

EastEnders continues Monday (8:00pm), Tuesday, Thursday (7:30pm) and Friday (8:30pm)
