Ruby has arrived! Rookie paramedic Ruby Sparks makes quite an entrance when she joins Casualty. But will she be making an exit in the same episode?

You study, you train, you pass exams and then, before you know it, it’s the first day of your new career. Ruby Sparks makes a big impression when she joins Holby ED’s paramedic team this week. Unfortunately, it’s not the impression she hoped for…

Ruby Spark’s first day as a paramedic gets off to an awful start when she attempts to treat a drug user by the book but ends up getting punched.

It’s the first of many hard lessons for Ruby. And Iain and Sam aren’t best pleased that they’ve to take Ruby (Maddy Hill) back to the ED for treatment, especially when paramedic boss Jan Jenning gives them both a dressing down for not keeping an eye on her!

Sam’s not best pleased that Ruby knows about her dalliance with nurse Jacob Masters – especially as she’s trying to keep it quiet. Meanwhile Sam’s got troubles of her own; will she tell Jacob that his teenage son Blake tried to kiss her?

After a series of unfortunate events Ruby realises her colleagues have strong negative feelings towards her - she really shouldn’t have thrown away their lunchtime kebabs! Relations rapidly go downhill after Ruby makes a life-compromising decision while treating a vulnerable patient. Ruby suffers a dressing down from doctor Dylan Keogh too, and has difficult questions to answer!

When Dylan sends her packing, Ruby decides to pay a visit to an earlier patient only to become embroiled in a scary confrontation between doctors Alicia Munroe and Eddie McAllister. All three end up being hauled into Connie Beauchamp’s office!
