There's tears in Home and Away today when Raffy Morrison leaves Summer Bay for good...

Home and Away favourite Raffy Morrison heads off for a new life in Victoria today as she starts a new medical trial for her epilepsy, leaving behind her heartbroken friends and family.

The news that Raffy had been accepted onto the trial didn't come as much of a shock seeing as she was the perfect fit for the place. The only down side was she would need to move to a different state to take part.

But while everyone is thrilled that Raffy is finally going to get the medical help she needs for her epilepsy, for foster parent Marilyn Palmer is devastated to be saying goodbye.

Mason Morgan is thrilled for his sister, having always been a huge supporter of her medical trials, while older brother Justin is happy but sad to see her leave their family home for a new life with their other brother, Brody.

With the medical trial starting immediately, Raffy announces she is leaving later the same day and she shares a special farewell with Ryder, having put their recent dramas behind them.

But as everyone gathers by the car to wave Raffy off, there is a twist in store.

Raffy hugs Mason, Roo, and Ryder, but Marilyn is left utterly bereft when Raffy leaves without even a single word, let alone a farewell hug.

It is left up to John to comfort his wife as she struggles to understand why Raffy would leave without saying goodbye properly... and it is only when they get back to the diner that they realise why.

The pair find a letter waiting for them from Raffy, telling them that she's sorry that she went without a final hug, but that she loves them too much and it would be too hard to say goodbye in person.

As Raffy tells Marilyn and John exactly how much they mean to her, Marilyn is left in floods of tears, but this time they are happy tears instead of sad ones.

Home and Away fans know that actress Olivia Deeble is leaving her role as Raffy in Home and Away to play a princess in a new Disney film called Secret Society of Second Born Royals.

So while Raffy might be gone for a while... could Marilyn's prays one day be answered and we'll see her make a surprise return?
