TV Times top picks for today

What’s on telly tonight? Here the TV Times team of expert reviewers highlight the best shows on Wednesday 24th October

Without Limits: Australia, 8pm, BBC1

To say this has been an emotional journey would be an understatement. Now our wounded British and Aussie veterans are coming to the end of their epic expedition across Australia, with another four days of travel across rugged terrain during the day and camping in the bush at night still to go. For some of the group, it has been a chance to prove that they are on the road to recovery, but for others, such as 23-year-old former aircraft technician Keanie, there’s still a long road ahead. But we see it’s all been worth it, as the series concludes two months later with the vets sharing their experience with Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex at the start of the Invictus Games in Sydney. Trevor McDonald & the Killer Nurse, 9pm, ITV

When Beverley Allitt arrived at Grantham and Kesteven Hospital during the spring of 1991, the softly spoken 22-year-old struck staff as a cheerful and attentive nurse. However, in the months that followed Allitt’s arrival, doctors at the Lincolnshire hospital were left puzzled when four babies died, and many more infants fell ill, in mysterious circumstances. Sir Trevor McDonald had just begun his tenure as News at Ten anchor at the time. In this documentary, commissioned as part of the Crime and Punishment season, Sir Trevor meets families of victims, detectives and people who miraculously escaped Allitt’s clutches as youngsters, in order to re-examine a case that shocked the nation. Apprentice, 9pm, BBC1

The candidates are off to Birmingham to muscle in on the fitness industry at a major body-building expo. They must select a high-end product and a service to sell, with spray tans (we wouldn’t let any of them near us!) and infrared saunas among the options on offer (watch Claude sneak off to test one out!). The pressure is on – so who will Lord Sugar deem unfit to stay in the process? Rating: ****

More previews tomorrow.
