Yesterday saw Colby and Mac share a surprise kiss, but the moment didn't last long when the new owner of Salt noticed Colby's wedding ring.
Colby has been wearing his ring ever since his wedding to Chelsea, but despite that marriage being over long ago, he hasn't taken it off since.
When Willow Harris finds out about Colby and Mac's kiss, her first thought is the fact that Dean is going to freak out when he hears about his best friend and his sibling... but Colby is less worried about Dean and more focused on trying to work out what the kiss with Mac meant.
Willow suggests that this is a sign that maybe now is the time for Colby to take his ring off, but he's not sure he's ready to let go... still hanging on to the hope that Chelsea might come back to Summer Bay one day.
However after a few home truths from Willow, Colby realises that she is right and he needs to move forward with his life... starting with getting rid of his wedding ring.

Colby heads out to sea for a surf and, in a moment of bravery, he takes off his wedding ring and in a symbolic gesture, he throws it as far into the ocean as he can...
Feeling liberated, Colby meets Willow for a beer and it doesn't take long for her to notice that his ring has gone... and she couldn't be happier for her friend.
Without his wedding ring Colby finds he's got a new-found freedom and calls Mac to ask her out on a date.
But how will Dean feel when he finds out about Colby and Mac's potential romance?
