Following the BRIT Awards last week, the stage is set again for the likes of Tom Jones and Taylor Swift to perform for their legions of fans. Well, not exactly… But hoping to do those artists – and other big names – justice are the superfans who’ll be transforming into their favourite music idols in this reimagining of Stars in Their Eyes. And this time, there’s a new judge they’ll have to ‘impress much’ as Grammy-winner Shania Twain joins the panel. While the costumes often leave a lot to be desired, the vocals are the real deal, and if this opener is anything to go by, then this series will pack star power.

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since ITV revamped the classic game show Catchphrase with Stephen Mulhern? The ‘say what you see’ quiz doesn’t officially mark its birthday until April, but we’re celebrating early here at TV Times with this celebrity edition, featuring Danny Miller, Rachel Stevens and Richard Arnold. The secret to the show’s success is no doubt that it’s a quiz the whole family can play along with at home. Here’s to another 10 years, Catchphrase

The Real Nolly, ITVX

HELENA BONHAM CARTER as Nolly and MARK GATISS as Larry Grayson in Nolly

If you enjoyed ITVX’s drama Nolly, about Noele Gordon and ATV’s long-running soap Crossroads, don’t miss this excellent documentary about the life of the ‘Queen of the Midlands’. Featuring interviews with Russell T Davies, who wrote Nolly, Anne Diamond and former Crossroads actors including Paul Henry (Benny) and Corrie’s Sue Nicholls (Marilyn Gates), plus archive clips, it reminds us how instrumental Noele was in the history of TV. (Along the way she won countless TV Times Awards and appeared on many of our covers.) ‘She was actually quite a pioneer, particularly in the world of television and particularly for women,’ says Anne. ‘And people like me should thank her.’
