Shetland season 7, 9 pm, BBC One
When DI Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall) was arrested at the end of last series after being framed by evil Donna Killick, our howls of anguish could probably have been heard in Lerwick itself. Now, as the series returns, justice has been restored following a tribunal one year later, and Perez returns to active duty for a new six-part run, which will be Douglas Henshall’s final series. He’s back in the thick of the action when troubled Connor Cairns (Nicholas Nunn) fails to return from a night out, much to the consternation of his parents. But are they telling Perez and Tosh (Alison O’Donnell) - who’s now mum to a baby daughter - the unvarnished truth?

Changing Rooms, 8 pm, Channel 4
‘I’m going to get beige rage,’ declares Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen as he arrives in leafy Tunbridge Wells for the first makeover of the new series. Two sets of very nice neighbours must have got very drunk one night and filled in the Changing Rooms form online then forgotten about it, but then Laurence and ‘more is more’ designer Whinnie Williams rock up with clashing patterns, bright paints and bold ideas that make both sets of neighbours feel sick. The couples live in big 1930s houses and are hoping for tranquil, calm and grown-up designs – ha! At least they can afford to get the decorators back in, probably before the freshly painted (yellow) walls have even dried.

Celebrity MasterChef, 8 pm, BBC One
It’s time to turn up the heat as a new gang of famous faces show off their culinary skills, hoping to tickle the tastebuds of judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace. First in the kitchen as the heats begin are McFly star and The Voice Kids coach Danny Jones, Love Island’s Faye Winter, stand-up comic Kae Kurd, media personality Nancy Dell’Olio, and Chuckle Brothers favourite Paul Chuckle. We love seeing celebrities outside their comfort zones, and we reckon this series will serve up some tantalising treats. Continues tomorrow.

Best box set to watch on TV tonight
Neil Gaiman's sprawling comic book series has been described as "unfilmable" in the past, but Netflix has taken on the task by transforming his universe into this 10-part adaptation which is based on the first two arcs from the books. The Sandman tells the story of Morpheus — aka Dream — who rules over a realm known as The Dreaming, the fantasy world that awaits every single one of us as we dream.
Tom Sturridge leads the cast alongside a whole host of exciting British stars including Charles Dance, Gwendoline Christie, David Thewlis, Stephen Fry, Jenna Coleman and Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Best film to watch on TV tonight
Atomic Blonde, 9 pm, Film4
Mi6 agent Charlize Theron is in Berlin just before the fall of the wall in 1989, hunting for a missing list of all the spies in the city. Her mission is fiendishly tangled - she can trust no one. The action has a thrilling brutality with its remorseless fight scenes that leave the antagonists bloody, bruised and panting for breath, but it's Theron who really makes us gasp - she's a proper badass.

Martin was a Staff Writer with WhatToWatch.com, where he produced a variety of articles focused on the latest and greatest films and TV shows. Now he works for our sister site Tom's Guide in the same role.
Some of his favorite shows are What We Do In The Shadows, Bridgerton, Gangs of London, The Witcher, Doctor Who, and Ghosts. When he’s not watching TV or at the movies, Martin’s probably still in front of a screen playing the latest video games, reading, or watching the NFL.
