Joe Pasquale skates off Dancing On Ice

Joe Pasquale's Dancing On Ice reign came to an end on Sunday night after he became the latest celebrity to be booted off the show.

The funnyman had previously managed to escape the skate-off in the ITV1 show despite consistently finishing at the bottom of the judges' scoreboard over the past few weeks.

However his luck ran out when he found himself in the bottom two against TV presenter and long-time friend Keith Chegwin.

And when both had performed their 'save me' skates the judges were unanimous in deciding who they wanted to save.

"This is always going to be difficult for me, you've both brought something very special to the competition but I'm saving Keith," Karen Barber said.

Jason Gardiner added: "You both have personality in abundance, but when it comes to technicality Keith overrides that I'm afraid."

Afterwards Joe admitted, "It's a shame but I've lasted five weeks longer than I should have done," adding that while other contestants talk about their highs and lows when leaving he "hadn't had a single low at all".

Mentor and Christopher Dean said that it would not be goodbye to Joe from them, leading him to joke: "That's right...I'll be round your house tomorrow."

Earlier in the show Joe had once again finished in last place on the judges' scoreboard with 18.5 points for his Valentine-themed routine with partner Vicky Ogden.

However he did win some positive feedback from the judges, with Ashley Roberts praising the funnyman for "always making me smile", and Jason Gardiner saying: "Joe does absurd and ridiculous naturally...it's improving so well done."

Six celebrities remain to compete in next weekend's show, with Samie Ghadie, Luke Campbell, Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas and Gareth Thomas all going straight through on the strength of the public vote.
