Jack encourages Ruby not to go to the inquest and when Esther offers a supportive arm to her friend, Ruby begrudgingly accepts, for now. When he returns, Jack tells the girls that it's over - they're in the clear - but Esther realises her misery isn't over when Ruby shows her true colours. An entertainment writer with a diverse taste in TV and film, he lists Seinfeld, The Sopranos, The Chase, The Thick of It and Detectorists among his favourite shows, but steers well clear of most sci-fi.
