This remake of the French thriller District 13 teams star of the original and Parkour expert David Belle as a convict with Paul Walker as a Detroit cop.

As a showcase for the free-running skills of Parkour co-founder Belle, this is exhilarating stuff, though the plot is very shaky.

A ruthless drug lord, played by rapper RZA, controls the city's most crime-ridden district and a powerful missile ends up in the sealed-off ghetto.

So Walker joins forces with Belle to track it down and defuse it.

Watching Belle perform his gravity-defying leaps and bounds is hugely entertaining, although the overuse of slo-mo effects and flashy editing diminish their impact.

Meanwhile, watching Fast & Furious star Walker get behind the wheel for more automotive mayhem in one of his last roles feels distinctly uncomfortable.
