Doctors spoilers: Sid Vere invites Ayesha Lee on a date?

Doctors, Sid Vere, Ayesha Lee

Sid has a surprise invite for Ayesha... to his parents' Ruby Wedding anniversary party! Will Ayesha agree to be Sid's 'girlfriend' for the event?

Ayesha Lee is still annoyed about yesterday's team-building exercise at the surgery, which left her feeling humiliated. But things are looking up, when colleague Dr Sid Vere invites the nurse out on a date. Well, sort of...

Sid's parents are having a Ruby Wedding anniversary party and he wants Ayesha to go with him, so his mum stops trying to set him up with a girl called Gabrielle. But how will Ayesha feel about being a decoy?

Unfortunately for Sid, it's not long before word gets out, and other staff members including Dr Al Haskey and receptionist Valerie Pitman start plotting to get invited to the fancy party too!

At the same time, surgery practice manager Becky Clarke tries to make amends with Ayesha after the disaster of the team-building exercise. She tries to convince Ayesha she's a role model and a trailblazer and shouldn't feel she's less important than anyone else, just because of where she started out in life. But will Ayesha listen?

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
