As part of the celebrations marking 70 years of the NHS, Alan Titchmarsh and his team are transforming the outside space of the largest children’s hospital in the country – the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
Before the team arrives, the site is without a dedicated garden, so it’s a huge task to create a beautiful, tranquil and healing area for the staff, patients and their families to enjoy.
The hospital treats hundreds of thousands of children every year, including the young victims of last year’s bomb attack on the city, some of whom are still being helped by the hospital today.
Alan hopes the colourful, dynamic garden will help brighten the lives of everyone who uses it.
