Neighbours spoilers: Gary Canning signs-up for a dodgy new job

Neighbours, Gary Canning

Cash-strapped Gary has been struggling to make ends meet. So is he desperate enough to accept a dodgy job offer from an ex-criminal mate?

Gary Canning has been struggling to pay his way since losing his job as spa manager at The Flametree Retreat.

Gary's girlfriend Amy Williams partly solved his problems by giving him a loan. But when the dad discovers his daughter Xanthe is trying to find ways to pay back Amy, his pride tells him he needs to make some money... and fast!

So will Gary be tempted when he's reunited with an ex-criminal mate Kevin, who offers him a "not-quite-legitimate job"? Could Gary be risking being sent back to prison by signing-on as a "removals man" for a bunch of Kev's dodgy mates?

Meanwhile, after wandering off in a confused state and getting lost, Sonya Rebecchi heads for the hospital knowing she needs help.

Unaware the family nanny Alice Wells has been spiking her food with painkillers, former addict Sonya can't explain her cravings and near-temptation to drink again. Can Sonya's husband, Toadie get to the bottom of what's going on?

Elsewhere in Ramsay Street, Susan Kennedy is frustrated to hear she's not allowed to leave the country to visit her daughter Libby in China, because of the terms of her bail.

With possible murder charges still hanging over Susan's head, after she pushed twisted Finn Kelly off a cliff in self-defence, Susan's niece Bea Nilsson reels with the guilt of having brought her ex-fiance Finn back into all of their lives.

Neighbours continues weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters.

Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave?

Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
