Neighbours spoilers: What has happened to Sheila Canning?

Neighbours, Sheila Canning

There's BIG worry at the Canning house on Neighbours over the news Sheila has gone missing. And it's not looking good when her abandoned car is found...

The last time anyone saw Sheila Canning (played by Colette Mann) on Neighbours, she was in a seriously distressed state.

She has fallen out with her son Gary Canning (Damien Richardson), after he found out Sheila and his hated neighbour Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) were plotting to sabotage his engagement to Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond).

Sheila's fella, Clive Gibbons (Geoff Paine) strongly disapproved of her behaviour and the couple broke-up!

But where has down-on-her-luck Sheila gone? Soon after the search begins, Gary, Amy and Sheila's grandson Kyle Canning (Chris Milligan) are alarmed when Sheila's car is found abandoned in a remote area...

The Ramsay Street residents rally around a shaken Gary, who clings to the hope his meddling mum will walk through the front door of Number 26 at any moment. But as time ticks on, Gary's hopes start to fade...

Neighbours, Chloe Brennan, Elly Conway

There's a double date in store for Chloe and Elly with Bea and Finn on Neighbours. (Picture: Channel 5)

Meanwhile, things could potentially be totally awkward when Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) suggests a double date for her and new sort-of girlfriend Elly Conway (Jodi Anasta) with Elly's sister Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson) and her boyfriend Finn Kelly (Rob Mills).

Elly and Finn have been clashing a whole lot lately. She doesn't fully approve of his relationship with Bea, while he thinks Elly, who is pregnant with his half brother Shaun Watkins's baby, is trying to push Shaun out of the picture by using Chloe as her new pregnancy partner.

Can everyone learn to get along for the sake of the baby?

Neighbours continues weekdays at 1:45pm and 5:30pm on Channel 5

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
