Sophie and Sian start volunteering at the soup kitchen where they meet Dennis, an unkempt but charming man in his 70s. He's too late for soup, so the girls take him back to the cafe where he looks familiar to Rita. Steve and Becky make up, planning a night out together, before he heads to the doctors with Tracy and Amy. Dr Carter suspects she's got a milk allergy and advises she's kept off dairy while he does some tests. But back home Amy becomes ill again and insists she wants her daddy. Tracy's call interrupts Steve and Becky's evening, but Becky keeps calm as Steve goes running to nurse his sick daughter. Ches tries to talk to Katy about John, now convinced he must have been up to something with Charlotte. But Katy's preoccupied with her horrendous morning sickness and fast approaching GCSEs. Needing answers Chesney questions John about why he went to the Hoyles and it's clear John's unnerved. Also, when Kevin won't give Sian driving lessons Tommy spots the chance to ingratiate himself and offers his services for free; Claudia wants nothing more to do with Marc or Audrey.
