I'm A Celebrity: David Van Day is out!
They thought he'd never leave... After 16 days in camp, jungle bad boy David Van Day has been voted off I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! The former Dollar singer had entertained viewers by annoying his campmates with his antics - and at one point many thought he may even win the ITV1 show. But viewers had clearly grown tired of David's devilish behaviour and it was time for him to go. David admitted to hosts Ant and Dec that he was sad to be out, saying: "Course I'm disappointed to leave my friends there - but I think my work was finished." During his time in camp, David didn't often see eye to eye with the other celebrities, particularly glamour girl Nicola McLean. But when asked if he'd deliberately set out to be controversial, David replied: "No, but I did say before I went in I wasn't going to take any nonsense from anyone." He added: "I can only react to other people's actions and Nicola gave me loads of currency." David did have some kind words to say about ex-EastEnders star Joe Swash, who had once defended him in camp. "He's my king of the jungle," said David. "I think he'll win it. He's a salt of the earth." Earlier, David and his three remaining campmates - Joe, tennis ace Martina Navratilova and Star Trek actor George Takei - took part in the Celebrity Cyclone Bushtucker Trial. The fab four managed to brave tidal waves, water jets and wind machines to successfully place four stars at different points and win meals. After the campmates failed to win the contents of the Celebrity Chest, they were treated to a game of Chocolate Roulette. But they soon realised their treats were not that sweet - they contained various jungle nasties. Joe, Martina and George will battle it out in Friday night's finale to be crowned king or queen of the jungle. Get exclusive access to your favourite stars. Subscribe to TV Times magazine
