DEATH shock on the cards for THIS Coronation Street legend next week

There's shock heading for Mary Taylor in next week's Coronation Street...

Coronation Street's Mary Taylor is convinced that Norris Cole has died next week when she sees Freda Burgess with an urn of ashes!

The drama starts at the end of this week when Mary finds Freda in Norris's house on Friday 3rd May.

Freda explains that she is there on Norris's request as he has asked her to sell the house for him. But Mary is thrown when Norris isn't with Freda and, having not heard from him herself, she starts to think the worst.

Mary and Tracy are stunned to find the door of number 3 open... and Freda inside!

And it seems that Mary's worries about her estranged husband are confirmed next week when she is stunned to catch Freda at Norris's house with what looks like some ashes.

The official website for Coronation Street has revealed today: "Mary is horrified to find Freda at Number 3 with an urn! What has she done?"

But as Mary thinks the worst and is convinced that Freda has done away with Norris and is moving in on his assets, it seems she might have got the wrong end of the stick.

The Coronation Street website continues: "It turns out that Mary's accusations are wrong as Norris arrives home - and just in time! How will Mary react to seeing Norris again?"

Just as it looks like Mary is confronting Freda over her fears that she has done something sinister to Norris, a car pulls up and out steps Norris... and not a moment too soon, because then he can thankfully put terrified Mary's mind at rest.

He's back! Malcolm Hebden as Coronation Street's Norris Cole...

But it's not just the false alarm over Norris's death that leaves Mary rattled, because later there is more drama to come when Norris drops a bombshell...

"Norris shocks Mary by revealing that he and Freda are engaged! Mary is furious and she says she never wants to see him again. Is their friendship over for good?"

So with Mary and Norris falling out over getting a divorce, it seems the pair's friendship might be damaged beyond repair.

But it looks like Mary isn't the only one giving poor old Norris a hard time...

He's also getting earache from Freda later in the week when she realises just how much Mary means to him. Could this revelation put a hold on their engagement?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
