EastEnders fans have been left stunned after seeing this unlikely Walford resident in a new blockbuster film trailer...

Just when you think you've seen it all, up pops EastEnders star Laila Morse, better known to soap fans as Albert Square's Big Mo Harris, in a new trailer for blockbuster film Hellboy.

The new film, set to be released in spring next year, sees the legendary actress in a totally different role to her Walford alter-ego - because this time she is playing a machine gun-wielding chip shop worker... not something you usually see in Walford's Beale's Plaice!

In the trailer for the new release, Hellboy can be seen arriving at some secret headquarters... which is actually a London fish and chip shop, where Laila is standing behind the counter and demanding he show her some ID, despite his unusual appearance.

By the end of the trailer Laila can be seen in her new character brandishing a machine gun, aiming at someone from behind the chip shop counter.

But while fans recover from the unexpected spotting, they don't have to wait until the film is released in April to see Laila on screen.

This Christmas promises to be bigger than ever for the Slaters - and Big Mo will be caught up in all the action as Kat Slater discovers husband Alfie is the father of Hayley's baby.

The secret is set to be revealed on Christmas Day, with soap insiders revealing: "Alfie is determined to give Kat the perfect Christmas, but his dreams come to a sudden halt when the truth about him and Hayley unravels in catastrophic style.

Christmas 2018 promises to be full of Slater drama

"As Kat's world is shattered into pieces, chaos ensues with consequences no one can see coming."

Meanwhile it looks like at least one Walford resident could be meeting a grisly end while the rest of the Square is settling down for the Queen's speech.

Our EastEnders insider told us: "Christmas is rarely a quiet time in Albert Square, and this year is no exception when at least one person is left with blood on their hands."

EastEnders airs Monday and Friday at 8pm and Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
