Thankfully Frank managed to save Tracy from certain death as he broke down the door of the store room with a table.

But just when it looked like the pair were going to make it out in one piece, Frank made the fatal decision to go back into the blaze after discovering the engagement ring had fallen out of his pocket.

Going back into the fire sealed poor Frank's fate, because by the time he eventually emerged, he was caught up in an explosion that threw him and the two fireman into the air.

Frank was then thrown into the side of a van, and landed on the floor where he lay without moving.

Despite paramedic's trying to save his life, it was soon clear that poor Frank had succumbed to his injuries.

Tonight's Emmerdale sees Frank's nearest and dearest struggling to come to terms with what has happened... but will Amy and Kerry admit that their tampering with the factory CCTV is what caused the fire that claimed at least one innocent life?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
