Emmerdale spoilers: WHO does Jai Sharma suspect started the fire?

Emmerdale, Jai Sharma

In the aftermath of the factory fire, Jai and his sister Priya start to suspect the firestarter could be someone close to home...

After the blaze at the village factory last week on Emmerdale, factory boss Jai Sharma (played by Chris Bisson) wants some answers. But little does he know, the accidental arsonists were factory employee Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) and her daughter Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson)...

As the investigation into the fire continues, an insurance representative arrives to ask questions, and Jai's dad Rishi (Bhasker Patel) secretly worries about how he's going to repay the high interest loan he borrowed from wealthy businesswoman, Kim Tate (Claire King).

With Rishi and his wife Manpreet Jutla (Rebecca Sarker) acting a bit dodgy, it's not long before Jai and his sister Priya (Fiona Wade) begin wonder if their own dad and stepmum were responsible for the fire that has now jeopardised the future of the family business!

Meanwhile, Kerry and Amy continue to lay low, trying to convince themselves they didn't accidentally start the fire when Kerry broke into the factory safe to steal money to help Amy clear her debts with a dodgy former associate.

But how long will it be before the net closes in on mum and daughter?

Emmerdale, Pete Barton, Nate Robinson

Nate wants to see Moira on Emmerdale. (Picture: ITV)

Elsewhere in the village, farmhand Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) seems to still be on a mission to take advantage of Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Cain Dingle's (Jeff Hordley) troubled marriage.

After their recent secret kiss in the barn at Butler's Farm, could it be Nate is up for round two with married Moira, even though she has warned him to steer clear of her and her family (and you really don't want to mess with Moira, as sometimes people "accidentally" die around her!).

But Nate's left disappointed when he turns up at the farm and is told by Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) that Moira has taken a break to go and visit her Nana Barton.

Will Cain start to ask questions as Nate continues to pop-up where he's not welcome?

Emmerdale continues weeknights at 7:00pm on ITV

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
