Ninja Turtles give Joe Pasquale some artistic inspiration

If you've been wondering what comedian and former King of the Jungle Joe Pasquale has been up to recently, check out this video in which he unveils his talent as an artist and reveals the inspiration behind his latest works of art…

To celebrate the launch of the third series of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Nickelodeon channel Nicktoons, former I'm a Celebrity… winner Joe was asked to create his versions of works by the Renaissance Artists who the turtles –Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo – are named after. The paintings include some recognisable features from the animated series including the turtles' colourful eye masks and their favourite grub – pizza!

The unveiling comes on the back of new research which reveals that Brits ‘draw’ their cultural knowledge from a variety of unusual places including popular TV shows from when they were young.

In fact, more than half of those who grew up watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are able to correctly associate the turtles' names to the painters which means that the crime-fighting Turtle version of Donatello is more well-known than the 1th-century sculptor!

The paintings will be sold at auction to raise money for Nickelodeon's chosen charities – Family Action, TRACKS autism and KidsOut.

Catch the brand new series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Saturdays and Sundays at 9.30am on Nicktoons.
