The spark that’s been flickering between Sarah Platt and Gary Windass looks to set to flare into a full-blown flame, but it’s rapidly extinguished when Sarah finds out he knows Bethany is taking slimming pills. So is the romance over before it’s even begun?

How does Sarah react when she finds out Gary knew about the diet pills? “She goes absolutely mad. She does not handle the situation very well and knows she could have thought things through. It’s clear that things are not good between them any more.”
Gary’s ex Izzy says Sarah should give him a second chance… What does Sarah think about this? “At first Sarah is confused about why Izzy is getting involved. Sarah is very wary of her motives, but Izzy tries to reassure her that she just wants to see Gary happy.”
Can Sarah forgive him? “I think so, but I don't know whether there is a future for them romantically speaking. The talk with Izzy makes Sarah realise that she has handled the situation badly, but it also makes her realise that she needs to focus more on her children.
So where does that leave Gary? "Sarah resolves to put any idea of romance with Gary on the shelf. The situation with Bethany has been so upsetting, she just wants to be a better mum.”
Would you like Sarah to have a boyfriend? “At first I was like ‘Nooooo!’ I thought Sarah was better on her own because there are always complications. But now I think she needs to feel safe and it would be lovely for her to have someone to confide in.”
Are you looking forward to a fresh start for Sarah now? “Yes, it is great to see Sarah building herself back up, getting on with life and being involved with her family.”
