Lee Carter wasn’t up for his wedding night with Whitney Dean in EastEnders on Friday night – and we reckon he never will be!

Well, it definitely wasn’t the flashiest, splashiest wedding we’ve ever seen on EastEnders, but then the new Mr and Mrs Carter, Lee (Danny Boy Hatchard) and Whitney (Shona McGarty) were on a tight budget… And it’s Lee’s money troubles that could lead to him doing a runner from Albert Square.

Lee hardly looked overjoyed on his big day and he definitely wasn’t up for his wedding night.

While Whitney prepared herself for her first night as Mrs Carter, Lee looked like he wanted to hide under the bedcovers. And when Whit was finally ready for bed, he pretended to be asleep.

With his head full of Whitney’s recent miscarriage, his horrible job and the payday loan he’s taken out, Lee wasn’t feeling romantic and couldn’t fake it for his bride.

He’s hiding things from Whitney and he’s struggling – and it’s going to get worse.

He will want to make his new bride happy but he seems to think the only way he can do this is by spending loads of money, which he hasn’t got.

This could lead to his depression returning – and to him doing something that will devastate his whole family and break Whitney's heart.

Lee is broke but we know his mum and dad, Linda (Kellie Bright) and Mick (Danny Dyer), have a special fund for baby Ollie, in case the little lad needs help after that bang on he head he got when he fell out of his high chair.

So, will he make Whitney’s first Christmas as Mrs Carter special by “borrowing” from brother Ollie’s fund?

We know Lee is making his exit from Albert Square soon. Will he do a runner after fleecing his own family, making it a horrible New Year for the Carters – and ending his marriage to Whitney before it has hardly even started?
