Will Daniel's appearance on the Shopping Channel be a disaster when his colleagues poke fun at his fake tan and his on-camera rehearsal goes badly?

Dr Daniel Granger's surgery colleagues at The Mill couldn't believe it when he was approached to appear as a presenter on a TV shopping channel to promote his Michel 7 skincare range. But it's the moment of truth, as Daniel prepares to go in front of the cameras for his TV presenting debut!

However, things don't get off to a good start. Firstly, Daniel's colleagues have been enjoying poking fun at the fake tan he's been asked to wear on screen. And then an on-camera rehearsal in the studio doesn't go well at all. Will Daniel's TV presenting career be over before it has even begun?

Elsewhere in Letherbridge, Mrs Tembe takes matters into her own hands to stop Mr Smail, Practice Manager of rival surgery Sutton Vale from poaching staff from The Mill.

Mrs Tembe arranges to meet Mr Smail at his practice. But while the charming smooth talker is busy taking a phone call, Mrs Tembe can't resist the opportunity to snoop through his office! What will she find?

Meanwhile, Dr Sid Vere investigates a burglary after a father, Jeff Weston, claims he has been attacked in his own home by his son Steve Pope. However, when Sid does some digging, he discovers Jeff does have a son but it's not the guy called Steve. What's going on?

Doctors continues weekdays at 1:45pm on BBC One

Writer

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

Simon has written for a variety of TV and childrens’ magazines/websites including Inside Soap, Nickelodeon, What’s On TV, Radio Times, Metro, Girl Talk, Disney Girl, Toxic! and Digital Spy. He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.

Simon is also co-author of The Treasures Of Coronation Street (Carlton Books)

And the writer and director of (very!) low budget fright flick, Midsummer Night's EVIL and the sequel webisodes series, The Hatchet Woods HORROR.
