It's the day of the trial and, in Harold's, Sam sees how uncomfortable Steph is when Donna comes in. Not missing an opportunity, Sam asks Paul to get Donna involved. Paul puts his foot down and says no. When Sam questions how much Paul wants to see Steph go down he resorts to dirty tactics and pays Donna a visit. When Donna tells Paul she doesn't want to be at the trial Paul relents. Later, a desperate Paul tells Donna she has to go to the trial to see the woman who killed her husband get sent down. Donna gets upset and when Karl approaches things get heated. Donna runs off and everyone is worried. Declan and Lucas go looking for her but they can't find her. However, Declan has an idea of where she might be and the boys find her at Bridget's grave. Steph sees how upset Lyn is and asks her not to come to the trial but to look after Charlie for her instead. As Steph gets ready for her trial, Donna wonders whether she should go. As Steph sets off with Toadie, she panics when she realises that Donna is going to attend the trial. She tells Toadie she can't go through with it.
