Eat Pray Love

Disillusioned American divorcee Julia Roberts heads off on a journey of self-discovery

Disillusioned American divorcee Julia Roberts heads off on a journey of self-discovery.

In Italy, she finds the joy of eating and drinking, then abandons that for the power of prayer in India and finally discovers true love in Bali.

Based on Liz Gilbert's real story, the film is a light and superficial concoction - but also sweet and memorable. At heart, it's an old-style romantic comedy drama and it looks a real treat.

Roberts is really rather good and Javier Bardem, Billy Crudup and James Franco give classy performances as the men in her life.
