Margaret (centre) with her long lost family

Long Lost Family helps an 82-year-old find the family she's spent a lifetime looking for

In Long Lost Family tonight, two extraordinary stories of loss and love, as two families are reunited after decades apart.

The first searcher is Nicholas, looking for his birth mother. Unbeknown to him, his half-sister is also desperately hoping he will find her and has stayed in her childhood home for 52 years because the address is on Nicholas’s adoption file and she hoped one day he would come looking for his birth family.

The second story is from Margaret, 83, who is the oldest person to search for a relative in the show’s history.

She is looking for the daughter she was forced to give up when she was just 19.

She has thought of, and prayed for, her little girl every day since and won’t let anything – even a long-haul flight to the other side of the world – stop her.
