Turn up the heating and pour yourself a copita of sherry – Alex Polizzi is in Andalusia on this leg of her Spanish journey.

In Fort Bravo, a film set and theme park in Almería, she takes part in a Western show for tourists, then it’s on to Lanjarón, which is famous for its mineral water.

Alex is unimpressed by a spa treatment (‘Get on with it!’ she shouts while being hosed down with cold water) but perks up somewhat when the proprietor of a jamón shop claims his youthful appearance is down to lots of ham and red wine.

Finally, lucky Alex is treated to an early-morning visit to the majestic Alhambra in Granada, where she can marvel anew at one of her ‘favourite places in the world’.
