When it comes to special occasion cakes, the sky's the limit and the cake-baking business is booming

Gone are the days when a simple sponge was enough to impress your party guests. When it comes to special occasion cakes, the sky's the limit and the cake-baking business is booming.

This new series meets the bakers for whom no cake is too difficult or demanding.

Tonight, London baker Natassja makes a tropical cake complete with 3D edible feather boa, and Essex-based Eloise defies gravity with her upside-down four-tier creation.

However, the showstopper comes from Phil and Christine, who make the world's first cake that makes cakes – a 7ft homage to Wallace & Gromit.
