Surreal comedy, with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer, featuring sketches, slapstick, songs and stunts, accompanied by a series of special guests
The 25th anniversary of BBC2’s The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer is the reason for this new four-part outing for Vic and Bob – Vic & Bob's Big Night Out – but any excuse to let loose their unique brand of comic mayhem on the viewing public is always welcome.
Long-term fans will be pleased to hear that talent competition Novelty Island is back, this week featuring the obnoxious Graham Lister performing with his rescue owl, Beaky.
Plus, the pair disrupt a couple’s cosy dinner date with a song and dance routine, before they are interrupted by ‘Tom Cruise’ performing a daring stunt, and Bill Decker demos unique animal impersonations. There really is nothing quite like a big night in with the inimitable Vic and Bob. Remember the first series in 1990?

As TV Times Highlights Editor I get to hear about all the latest TV shows coming soon. Here at TVT HQ we are in the privileged position of selecting the best programmes from across all the channels and streaming platforms. Our mission is to make it easier for our readers to decide what to watch - and give them lots of choice of genres - all the latest shows, plus some nostalgic choices we call hidden gems, too. My career began with a postgraduate degree in periodical journalism (ahem, yes old school!) in 1991 and I’ve worked in TV media since 2000.
