Sam Strachan reinvents himself as an ED doctor – making Connie his boss!

Jaws drop when Sam Strachan turns up in the ED in doctor’s scrubs ready for a shift in a junior doctor role! Last week Sam was the hospital’s medical director and on the verge of firing members of the emergency department when he suddenly decided to resign.

Despite Sam’s transformation into a ‘specialty doctor’ at the ED, the close-knit medical team don’t welcome him with open arms…

Sam’s itching for exciting medical cases now he’s no longer medical director, but his colleagues ensure he gets the more mundane medical tasks…

Sam’s desire for adventure is given an outlet, however, when he takes an emergency call from the paramedics, who need a doctor to help free a man trapped under a train. There’s only one problem – Sam rushes off without asking clinical lead Connie Beauchamp (Amanda Mealing), who’s also his ex, for permission first!

Connie’s furious when she finds out. Could Sam’s first day as an ED doctor spell the end of his medical career?

Elsewhere, the atmosphere between Lily and Iain is icy with a touch of frost.

The ED staff take bets on how long until Sam is sacked.

And Dylan, who’s lost confidence since Cal’s death, faces his most difficult patient to date…
