Documentary exploring the rise of female trophy hunters
The story of dentist Walter Palmer, who shot Cecil the lion dead in Zimbabwe, caused outrage around the world. But, as this one-off documentary shows, hunting big game is no longer the sole province of men – and the number of female trophy-hunters is on the rise. This film follows two of these women, Croatian-Canadian Jacine Jadresko and American Rebecca Francis. While they are admired by some fellow hunters, they attract hostility – including frequent death threats – from the public, and Rebecca has been condemned by famous animal-rights campaigners such as Ricky Gervais. What drives them to keep going?
