Tonight’s episode of EastEnders saw Ben arrange a hit on Billy Mitchell. But there was another shock for fans, as it looks like Ben may be bedding the hitman!

Two weeks ago EastEnders fans saw Ben send a very saucy text to a mystery guy. There was wild speculation about who Ben’s secret lover could be, with some fans even thinking it might be Chantelle Atkins’s solicitor hubby Gray Atkins.

Since Ben’s return to Walford with Lola Pearce, he’s been playing everyone. He’s been using Lola Pearce and their little daughter Lexi Pearce to help him get close to Phil and fleece his dad of his money.

Then Lola made the shock discovery that Ben had threatened her ex-fiance Ewan’s life to keep him from taking Lola and Lexi home to Newcastle. Angry with Ben’s games, a drunk Lola let slip to her ‘Pops’, granddad Billy Mitchell, that Ben was planning to take everything from Phil.

In tonight’s episode, when Billy tried to tell Phil about Lola’s confession, Ben went full gangster and called his ‘contact’ to sort Billy out – permanently! Ben met up with his guy in a darkened alleyway but as he handed him the cash they seemed to know each other, as Ben said flirtily, ‘When did hitmen become so sexy?’

When the credits rolled, there was a character called Donny Ward, played by actor Darcy Vanhinsbergh. Could he be Ben’s mystery man?

EastEnders continues on BBC1 on Thursday night at 7.30 pm.
