David Lynch appears to be planning a return to Twin Peaks, 25 years after the series was cancelled.
The director is looking for a new star, which could be an actress to play murdered beauty queen Laura Palmer, according to the Daily Mail.
A casting call for a Twin Peaks promo directed by David Lynch asks for attractive brunette or redhead actresses aged between 18 and 27 to come and audition in Los Angeles.
The original series, which was set in 1989 and screened in 1990 and 1991, followed the investigation into Laura's murder, where in one episode her spirit whispered to FBI Agent Dale Cooper that she would see him again in 25 years.
Twin Peaks was abruptly cancelled during the second series after Laura's murderer was revealed and viewing figures dropped dramatically, leaving the series with an ending that David hadn't intended.
Dale appeared to turn from the series' hero into an evil character called Bob, while the fates of other characters were left hanging in the air.
David later said he regretted having bowed to network pressure to wrap up the Laura Palmer storyline, calling it a 'tough act to follow'.

A Twin Peaks film, Fire Walk With Me, was released in 1992, but concentrated on the final seven days of Laura's life.
