Favourite Coronation Street couple to SPLIT as love triangle takes a shocking turn

There's heartache heading to Coronation Street as Emma and Chesney dramatically split - but as one relationship ends, a new romance begins...

Coronation Street has confirmed that Gemma Winter and Chesney Brown are finally set to get together next week in a shocking twist to the Gemma/Emma/Chesney love triangle.

Coronation Street fans will know that Gemma and Chesney have had the hots for each other for what feels like forever - but the wait for the pair to get together looks like it might finally be over according to the official website for Coronation Street.

At the start of next week it seems Emma and Chesney are still very much a couple, but thanks to a case of a stolen ring, Emma is set to realise that Gemma is the woman for Ches, not her.

The website revealed today: "Paul finds a diamond ring and sells it at the market for £200, but when Roy worries that his mother's ring is missing, Gemma is suspicious.

"Gemma confronts Paul, pointing out that the ring was worth £3,000. But with the market trader refusing to hand the ring back, Gemma and Paul break into his van to try and find it, and end up locked in!

"After quite an adventure (and finally free from the van!) Gemma hugs Chesney. Clocking their chemistry, Emma realises the truth and finishes with Chesney. But how will Emma feel when she sees Gemma and Chesney together?"

Gemma thanks Chesney Brown for being the best friend ever. But will he pluck up the courage to tell her he loves her?

But with Gemma and Chesney set to become the cobbles' newest couple, where does this leave poor Emma?

Will she be heartbroken, having put her own feelings aside so that Chesney can find happiness with someone else? Or is she set to find herself a new romance in the not too distant future?

Ever since Paul arrived in Coronation Street he has been hinting about a dark past that Gemma has been hiding. Could her romance with Chesney hit the rocks if her secrets are exposed?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
