Home and Away star Jake Ryan looks back at Robbo's dark past (VIDEO)
Robbo and fiancee Jasmine are about to get hitched on Home and Away. But will the ex-cop's troubled past resurface to ruin the Big Day?
The folks of Summer Bay are getting super-excited about the wedding of Robbo (played by Jake Ryan) and Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost) which airs in episodes of Home and Away next week.
But remember when there was a time when everybody hated Robbo?
And with good reason. When the bad boy character was first introduced in 2017, he was lurking on an island, attacked Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher) broke into the Diner and was later revealed to be suffering from post-traumatic amnesia, having possibly commited murder!
"I was a bit worried when I read in the script that I'd belt Alf over the head with a lump of wood," Jake Ryan tells Louise Bowes, the Series Script Executive in the video interview below. "How do you do that to an Australian icon and stick around and have anyone that watches the show, remotely interested in you?"
With the troubled past of Robbo (aka John Doe, Beckett Reid and Ryan Shaw) set to resurface and possibly throw his and Jasmine's wedding day into chaos, Home and Away star Jake Ryan and Louise Bowes, Series Script Executive look back at past events including his post-traumatic amnesia, doomed romance with policewoman Kat Chapman, angry showdowns with Kat's ex-boyfriend Martin "Ash" Ashford and the SHOCK revelation he was once an undercover cop.
Plus, there's a tease about what's in store over the coming months for Robbo on Home and Away.

"If you think that Robbo's had a pretty wild entry to the Bay, the first year or so, what we've got coming up, I think well exceeds that," teases Jake. "So hold on. We're going for a ride. It's going to be big!"

Simon has long been a fan of soap operas, and especially loves OVER-THE-TOP plots involving evil twins, hair-pulling catfights and natural disasters. Anyone remember the Sunset Beach earthquake/tidal wave? Or when Krystle Carrington got locked in the attic and replaced by look-a-like Rita in Dynasty?!

He has reported LIVE from the red carpet at The British Soap Awards interviewing glammed-up stars from soapland, and hosted a Facebook LIVE session for Metro with Home and Away legend Ray Meagher (Alf "Stone the flamin' crows!" Stewart) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Aussie soap.
