Life on Ramsay Street will never be the same again as legendary Neighbours character is sensationally killed - and the drama kicks off next week!

Neighbours has been teasing us since last year that a main character is going to be dramatically killed off in 2019, and it has now been revealed that Sonya Rebecchi is the doomed Ramsay Street resident.

Actress Eve Morey, who has played the legendary character for the last ten years, has already left she soap, and her leaving storyline is set to kick off next week when Sonya collapses with a mysterious pain.

The rumour mill went into overdrive that Sonya was the character that was set to leave the soap when Eve's co-stars posted pictures of them all partying online, with Eve the centre of attention.

While it was claimed at the time that it was her birthday celebrations, fans saw through the facade and put two and two together, correctly guessing that Eve was the one sadly departing.

It has now been confirmed by an Australian TV magazine Soap World that Sonya is the character getting an untimely death.

So it seems the mystery surrounding Dipi Rebecchi's sinister tarot card reading that stated someone close to her was going to die was right all along... but how will the show kill Sonya off?

Next week sees the start of her exit storyline begin when Sonya collapses in pain while planting a tree.

While it has been revealed that the character is set to get some devastating news about her health, what is actually wrong with her remains tightly under wraps.

Sonya has been through the mill recently

Sonya has been the centre of some huge storylines during her decade on the soap.

Most recently she found herself almost killed by evil nanny Alice, she has also battled with an addiction to drink and drugs, got caught up in an explosion on her wedding day, and found her marriage shattered when husband Toadie cheated on her with fake ex wife, Andrea Somers.

One thing is for sure, with Sonya's brilliant relationship with Toadie and daughter Nell winning the hearts of fans around the world, there isn't going to be a dry eye in the house when she departs.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5
