SHOCK hits Ramsay Street as THIS Neighbours LEGEND leaves for good

There's heartbreak in today's Neighbours as a Ramsay Street favourite Mark Brennan leaves for pastures new...

Mark Brennan fans brace yourselves, because today's Neighbours sees everyones favourite Ramsay Street policeman make a shock departure that will have you in tears.

Ever since Mark's mum Fay returned to Ramsay Street and it became clear that her Huntington's had progressed rapidly, it seemed one of the Brennan siblings was going to have to care for her full-time.

As Aaron, Chloe and Mark all took Fay back to Adelaide where she lives with their other brother Tyler and is girlfriend Piper, it was agreed that Tyler and Piper couldn't look after Fay by themselves.

But while we were lead to believe in yesterday's Neighbours that it was Aaron and David who would be making the move from Ramsay Street, it was then revealed that Mark would be the one departing Erinsborough.

But in true Mark style, he doesn't want a fuss as he left Ramsay Street for good today (5.30pm, see out TV guide for full listings), and instead of doing the rounds and saying his goodbyes face-to-face he instead leaves a post-it on everyone's mail box telling them to check their emails.

Mark sends everyone a personal video message for them to watch, telling them all how much he is going to miss them once he has gone.

He makes peace with Roxy, who until today he was on bad terms with following their break up, and he even tells Paul how grateful he was that he lead him to Kate.

But the hardest message of all is the one he sends to Elly who, after watching the video isn't going to let him leave without saying a proper goodbye.

She finally tracks him down at the Lassiters lake and the pair make amends, putting all their troubles behind them and promising to stay in touch.

And just like that Mark has gone... but with the door kept well and truly open for him to return, perhaps we could see Mark back in Ramsay Street again one day.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5
